Mr. Harlon Leroy Fultz, 85, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born on March 19, 1933 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late William and Rodell Christian Fultz.
Mr. Fultz had worked at J. C. Wells & Sons Lumber Company for 28 years and he had also worked as a janitor at Tilden Hogge Elementary School for 8 years.
He was a member of the Adams-Plank Enterprise Baptist Church. Harlon enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and great-grandchildren, car shows and talking on the CB radio, where he was known as “Popeye”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Patricia Johnson Fultz, who passed away on November 15, 1998 and two sisters, Joyce Blankenbeckler and Wilma Davis.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael Leroy Fultz and Michele of Morehead, one sister, Velva (George) Hall of Dayton, Ohio, two granddaughters, Mickey Jo Fultz Harris of Lexington and Michaela Deanne Fultz Smedley (Jeremy) of Clearfield and three great-grandchildren, Kyle Ray Smedley, Victoria Shelby Harris and Olivia Cottone Harris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 30, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Elder Dustyn Doyle and Rev. Carlos Bowman officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Sill Cemetery at Haldeman.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Fultz, Tim Hamm, Jeremy Smedley, Randy Wagoner, Freddy Brown and Rocky Stacy.
Contributions are suggested to Hospice at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
