Harlan Roberts

Morehead a�" Harlan Edward Roberts, 85 of Morehead and formerly of Newcomerstown, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after an illness of several weeks.

He was born in Morehead, Kentucky on July 16, 1928 to the late Eddie and Ethel Dillon Roberts.

Mr. Roberts formerly owned and operated a car wash, worked for a security service and was a farmer. He attended the House of Prayer and was a former member of the Black River Game Club in Ohio and enjoyed raising flowers and a vegetable garden.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Alberta Roberts, his second wife Joan Wood Roberts, five brothers; Willie, Junior, Bubby, Woodrow and Charles, six sisters; Lillian, Faye, Eula, Opal, Eva and Jewell.

Survivors include his wife, Bertie Kegley Roberts, Two Sons; Henry (Wendy) Roberts of Aurora, Ohio and Kenneth (Laura) Davis of Colonial Heights, Virginia. One daughter, Karen (Robert) Cathers of Orlando, Florida. Two brothers; Earl Roberts of Guernsey, Ohio and Jackie Roberts of Morehead, Kentucky. One sister, Mary Jane Hall Jackson of Guernsey, Ohio. Bertie's Children, Ray (Villie) McDaniel, Bernard (Joann) McDaniel, Roberta (David) Howard, Berniece (Archie) Griggs, Deborah (Jr.) Stevens and Frank and Sarah Mickey. Five Grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren, Twelve Step-Grandchildren, Nineteen Step-Great-Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Winston McClurg officiating. Visitation at the funeral home is after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday.

Additional services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown, Ohio with Rev. A.C. Dockery officiating. Visitation at the funeral home is after 11:00 A.M. Friday. Burial will follow in the Earleys Cemetery in Newcomerstown, Ohio.

Family will serve as Pall Bearers.
