Gerald E. Warren, Age 68 of Burton Branch, Morehead, passed away Saturday evening at his home after an extended illness.
He was born August 25, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late George and Irene Borcet Warren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Pamila Warren Butler and a brother Richard Carmichael.
Mr. Warren was a veteran of the United States Navy having served for 22 1/2 years. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, a retired Metrologist who was listed in the Who's Who of Metrologist. He was the Laboratory manager for the Royal Air Force of Kuwait as well as British Aerospace in Saudi Arabia and had also work for NASA.
He enjoyed reading, traveling extensively and was of the church of God faith.
Survivors include his wife Mary Imajean Logan Warren, one son, Gerald E. Warren II of Morehead, five daughters, Teresa Thompson, Brenda Hamilton, Cheryl Wilson and Jody Collins all of Morehead and Beverly Weyman of Minneapolis, Minnesota, one brother, Raymond Warren of Minneapolis, Minnesota, five sisters, Carol King, Donna Owatta, Diane Hauskaneck, Shirley Champagne and Roberta Trail all of Minneapolis. 19 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 P.M. Tuesday - August 11, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Carter and Rev. Clayton Stacy officiating.
Burial with military rites will follow in the Warren Family Cemetery.
Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 6:00 P.M. Monday.
Pallbeares will be Gerald Warren II, Mitchell Collins, Steve Thompson, Chris Jones, Kevin Wilson and Jeremy Morrow and honorary pallbearers will be Travis Weirsum, Barry Hamilton, Stevie Thompson, Jordan Collins, Brian Kissinger and Robert Schwartz.
