George Roseberry Sr.

George Marlin Roseberry Sr. Graduated to heaven on Friday , July 1, 2022 surrounded by his family who loved him very much. He was born in Soldier, KY on September 22nd 1931. In his early years he lived on Maxey Flats and was raised by Stirl and Lovell Cox of Hillsboro KY.

In 1952 he enlisted in the United States Army and served as part of the 101st airborne division during the Korean War.  He continued to serve in the army reserves until 1960. George married Bonnie Jewell Pennington on June 12th 1954 and had two sons.  In their early years together George farmed and also worked as a maintenance welder for International Harvester. In 1976 George and his family traveled where he spent time as a superintendent on nuclear power plant facility constructions throughout the United States. He and Bonnie settled in Orlando, FL where he started a general contracting business building  homes.

In 1994, they returned to Fleming county Kentucky where he resided until his passing.
George loved gardening, woodworking and working with his hands. Most of all George loved sunny days sitting on his carport chatting with his family and with those who would stop in for a visit.
George is survived by his wife of 68 years Bonnie Jewell Roseberry of Wallingford, KY, his Cox family siblings, Bud and Shirley Cox, Woody and Sharon Black, and Johnny Walter Cox all of Rowan County, KY,  his two sons Marlin Roseberry and his wife Conda of Flemingsburg, KY, and Greg Rosebery and his wife Lise of Fairfield ME, three granddaughters Amanda Fannin and her husband Rory of Wallingford, KY, Kate Cunningham and her husband Mark of Wallingford, KY and Beth Roseberry of Fairfield ME,  4 great grandchildren Austin and Caleb Fannin and Titus and Elliana (Ellie) Cunningham, and several extended nieces and nephews.

A family Celebration of Life service with Military Honors by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126 will be conducted at 1:00 P.M Wednesday July 6, 2022  in the Chapel of the Michael R Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with his son Greg Roseberry officiating.

Visitation will be after 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
