George Black

George Russell Black, 63, of Fleming Fork a�" Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 in the King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

He was born on November 19, 1945 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Edd and Ada Knipp Black.

Mr. Black was a carpenter and he enjoyed working and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Cledis Earl Black, Edd Black, Jr. and Hershel Black and two sisters, Thelma Engle and Georgie Black.

Survivors include one son, Randall Black and his wife, Amy of Olive Hill, three brothers, Ora Black of Richmond, Indiana, Charles Black of Morgan County and Harold Gene Black of Morehead, four sisters, Maxine Harris of Clarksville, Tennessee, Janice Mynard of Mansfield, Ohio, Leola Fields of Culver, Indiana and Regina Wallace of Morehead, four grandchildren, Sandra R. Black, Sabrina K. Black, Samantha D. Black and Roy L. Black, his companion, Connie Black, Caleb Cade, whom he raised and loved like a son, his former wife and the mother of his son, Emily Black and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 12, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Winston McClurg officiating. Burial will follow in the Black Cemetery at Sharkey. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
