Mr. Gary Thomas, 77, of Little Perry Road, Morehead, passed away Monday morning, June 4, 2018 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
He was born on February 27, 1941 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Allie and Goldie Williams Thomas.
Gary enjoyed taking care of his yard, keeping his cars clean and sitting on his porch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmie Thomas, Buck Thomas, Donnie Thomas and Billy Thomas and four sisters, Ruby Stevens, Mildred Bailey, Juanita Lyons and Freda Thomas.
Survivors include two daughters, Lesa (Linn) Brown and Greta (Bill) Poe all of Morehead, step-son, David (Kelly) Thomas of Louisville, step-daughter, Darlene Hall of Morehead, two brothers, Roger Thomas and Bobby Thomas both of Morehead, three sisters, Wilma McKeown of Hammond, Indiana and Kay Hall and JoAnn Day both of Morehead, eight grandchildren, B. G. Poe, Brittany Morrison, Jessie Brown, Clay Hall, Elizabeth Smith, Georgia Thomas, Kendall Thomas and Boone Thomas, two great-grandchildren, Michael Poe and Jackson Mason and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 7, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Don Rivers and Brother Mitch Roe officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Sill Cemetery at Haldeman.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Thomas, B. G. Poe, Clay Hall, Darrell Davis, Eddie Davis and Rick Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Joe Stevens and Kenny Lyons.
Contributions are suggested to the Haldeman Church of God.
