Garry Johnson

Garry McKee Johnson, 73, of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Sunday,  August 1, 2021 at his home.

He was born on April 25, 1948  in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Cleo Caudill and Ruby Johnson Conn.

He was a heavy equipment operator having worked for Fox Contractors. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 103.

Garry enjoyed building and construction work, reading, country music and he was also a good storyteller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Swafford Johnson, daughter, Angel Conn Alfrey and a brother Carson Conn.

Survivors include Five sons, Jamie Conn of Morehead, Johnnie Robertson, Gary Conn, Sean Upshaw, and Shawn Shirley all of Anderson, Indiana. Three sisters, Justine Bailey of Swayze, Indiana, Charlene Conn and Geraldine Conn of Anderson, Indiana. Four brothers, Talmadge Conn of Alexandria, Indiana, Terry Conn, Darrell Conn, and Troy Conn all of Anderson, Indiana.  He also had a host of grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Also, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, August, 5, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead.

Burial will follow in the ­­­­­­Johnson Cemetery.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
