Mr. Fred Warren Brown, Sr. of Dry Branch Road was 93 years old when he passed away Tuesday evening, June 13th, 2023, on his family farm.
He was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on December 31st, 1929, to the late George Washington and Sadie Clark Brown.
Fred was a faithful Christian member of the Johnson First Church of God. He was a retired union carpenter, farmer, United States Army Veteran, and a devoted father and grandfather of three generations. He enjoyed reading his Bible daily, tinkering with his tractor and “Ole Blue”, and tending to his farm. His greatest joy was time spent doting on the little ones in the family. In his younger days, Fred enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting and raising a huge garden. For many years he enjoyed hosting the annual Brown Family Reunion. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend whose sweet presence will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Flossie Sparks Brown, son, Fred Brown, Jr., and grandson, Todd Fannin. Also, by brothers, Willie Brown, Ernest Brown, Wilford Ray Brown, Harold Brown, Claude Brown and sisters, Grace Yoder, Geraldine Crum, Wilma Hadwin, Flora Logan, Juanita Cooper, Madeline Sewell, and Geneva Whittle.
He is survived by his three daughters, Teresa Dumas (Rick), MaryAnn Brown (Chris), Penny Sahs (Bob) and daughter-in-law, Gina Brown; nine grandchildren Marcus Brown, Jason Fannin (Jennifer), Jeremy Fannin (Denise), Matthew Brown (Amy), Angela Eubanks (Steve), Jared Hamm (Brooke), Jordan Bentley (Kelli), Tylar Maxey (Chris); nineteen great-grandchildren Jayme (Lucas), Cole, Jasmine, Mya, Jadelin, Trenton, Jaylie, Ani, Steven, Micah, Tyler, Journey, Jaxon, Elliot, Noah, Wrena, Amelia, Waren, Rowan (due July 5th); two great-great grandchildren Layla and Layken and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Angela Eubanks, Jared Hamm, Jordan Bentley, Cole Fannin, Mya Dumas, Steven Eubanks, Micah Eubanks, and Harry Clark.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Brown, Matt Brown, Brooke Hamm, Rex Clark, Woody Clark, Jeremy Fannin, Jayme Barner, and Tylar Maxey.
Visitation will be held at Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 17th, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Ben Furman officiating.
Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the gravesite by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.
