Franklin D. "Jack" Catron, 73, of Maple Lane passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
He was born on July 17, 1934 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late John and Kate Nickles Catron.
Mr. Catron was a retired machine setter for Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was a Kentucky Colonel and attended the Sharkey Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Catron enjoyed taking care of his home and yard, attending church, working in the church, traveling and visiting with family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Owen Catron, who was killed in action while serving in the Navy during World War II and an infant brother and one sister, Jessie Oxendine.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Silcox Catron, whom he married on May 17, 1956, of Morehead, six sisters, Jewell Seagraves, Christine Johnson and Pauline Johnson all of Morehead, Maxine Stephens of Lebanon, Ohio, Olive Lee Pierce of Mansfield, Ohio and Martha Silcox of Ypsilanti, Michigan and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 11, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Catron Cemetery in Elliott County. Visitation is from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
