Mr. Ewing Petitt, 82 of Morehead passed away Friday afternoon April 7, 2017 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after suffering a massive heart attack. He was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on June 4, 1934 to the late Frank and Nettie James Petitt.
He was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department after 27 years of service. He had also worked at Spring Grove Dairy and Morehead Limestone.
Ewing enjoyed visiting with his friends and neighbors, driving around in his golf cart, riding his tractor and loafing at East End Auto Sales. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jessie, Inez, Mildred and Rose. Also his brothers, Paul J., Homer, Russell and Leonard.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Aline Mabry Petitt and one daughter, Roxanne Wagoner and her husband Randy of Morehead. Also nieces Joyce Kirk and Dianna Fischer, nephews,
Paul Michael Pettit, Larry Pettit and Bobby Pettit.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Bro. Don Rivers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation at the funeral home is after 5:00 P.M. Monday.
Pall Bearers will be Gary Johnson, Andy Cole, Rodney Wagoner, Philip Van Kersen, Mark Burton and Stanley Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Vernon May, J. D. Hignite, Sammy Caudill and Brandon Johnson.
