Eugene Brown

March 5, 1930 — April 23, 2011

Eugene Brown, 81 of Morehead, passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday afternoon, April 23, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Morehead following an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Ann Epperhart Brown and a brother, Charles Edward Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Jolene Sloas Brown, a son, Darryl Eugene Brown of Farmers, two daughters, Teresa (Chuck) Cooper of Versailles and Vanessa (Bob) Carpenter of Owingsville, two brothers, Vernon Brown of Dayton, Ohio, and Omer Brown of Morehead, three granddaughters, Caryn Ray, Megan Shaftner, and Alexandra Carpenter, and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was a longtime mechanic and U-Haul dealer and owner of Gene's Car Care. He was a deacon at the Mt. Pisgah Christian Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

A celebration of Gene's life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Pisgah Christian Church by Bro. James DeAtley, Bro. Clifford Muse, Bro. Charlie Riggs, and Bro. Chuck Cooper.

Visitation at the church from 5:00 to 8:00 on Monday and 10:00-11:00 on Tuesday.

Burial with full military rites by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mt. Pisgah Church.

Pallbearers are Phil Brown, Tim Brown, Randy Brown, Brian Brown, Johnny Wagner, and Mike Wagner. Honorary pallbearers are the men of Mt. Pisgah, Gene's brothers, and Dr. Ed Scott.

Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
