Mrs. Ethel Davis Caskey, Age 92 of Morehead, passed away Saturday evening in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead after an extended illness.
She was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on August 28, 1923 to the late Felix and Nannie Charles Davis. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Caskey who passed away November 7, 1985, an infant daughter, Amelia Ann Caskey, one sister, Christine Combs and three brothers, Chalmer Davis, Russell Davis and Hayward Davis who was killed in the Korean Conflict.
She is survived by one son, James "Gene" Caskey of Morehead, one brother Bobby Davis and wife Loretta of Morehead, Two sisters, Faye Pelfrey of Morehead and Elsie Lewis of Virginia. Three grandchildren, Joseph (Nancy) Caskey of Morehead; Lavondia (Tom) Barnes of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Lee Caskey of Jonesboro, Arkansas; eight great-grandchildren, Jesse McIntosh, Rebecca Caskey, Benett Caskey, Eric Barnes, Rayleigh Barnes, Cory Barnes, Kyle Barnes and Raymie Amelia Caskey. Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Caskey was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed flowers, cooking, taking care of her home and playing card games with her family. She was a member of the Sharkey Baptist Church.
She was well known for her upholstery work and was the owner of E & F Upholstery Shop in Morehead for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Elijah Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Caskey, Lee Caskey, Ricky Davis, Roger Davis, Carl Pelfrey, Jr. and Vernon Pelfrey, Honorary Pallbearer will be Jesse McIntosh.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead.
