Ethel Brewer Adkins an entrepreneur- Evangelist and Gospel Song writer with a degree in nursing was born in Wolfe Co. on January 11, 1919; has lived on Short Street Morehead KY all her life, finishing her remaining years with her daughter Brenda Adkins-Comer in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
She is the daughter of Jerry and Myrtle Lee Link Brewer of Farmers Ky- deceased. She is the fifth child out of ten living siblings. Siblings deceased; Firley, Estill, Ernie, Mitchell Brewer, Opal Blair, Icey Fields, Zelpha Gibson, and Bethel Brewer; she has 3 living siblings all in Morehead; Thelma Blair, Carl Brewer, and Evelyn Devore. Ethel was married to Atley William Adkins from Morgan County a top A farmer- whom is deceased and has four children together. Reva Joyce Anderson of Hillsboro Ohio deceased, Phyllus Gene Helton Fairborn, Ohio, Brenda Kay Adkins-Comer Saint Petersburg, Florida, and Atley Dale Adkins M.D. in Pikeville, Ky. Ethel has two grandchildren from Reva; a grandson Gary Helton Huber Heights, Ohio an auctioneer, granddaughter Teresa Frazier-Beekman retired in Hillsboro Ohio; three grandchildren by Phyllus Helton, Hagar Gene Helton Financial Manger-deceased, Janna Lynn Howard retired in Beavercreek Ohio, and Jenny Flynn a court reporter for Montgomery county Dayton, Ohio area, two grandchildren from daughter Brenda; Roger Lee Lewis Jr. Union Carpenter Dayton, Ohio, granddaughter Tina Kay Frank- disabled in New Carlisle, Ohio; also two step grandsons Michael and Brandon Comer and step granddaughter Natasha Lynn Comer and Tammy Adelman- Crackle and two grandchildren from her son Doctor Atley Dale Adkins; Beth Adkins a teacher in Pikeville, Ky, whom has Ethel's most newest edition to the family a Great Grandson Christopher Ryan and Matthew Dale Adkins in the Security work in Pikeville, Ky. Great Grandchildren; Doctor Mariko Helton in Cincinnati Ohio, Michele Rekner a social worker in Vandalia, Ohio, Tamara,RN, Chad, town trustee, Tracey, RN, Amber and Ashley Frazier, students all in Hillsboro, Ohio; Brandon Lewis student at Ohio State and Restaurant Host, Brent Lewis entrepreneur Brent's Landscaping and a musician, and Kassidy Lewis, a student at Tecumseh High School New Carlisle, Ohio; Aaron Joseph Frank industrial machinist in Springfield, Ohio, Codi Frank-Student, and Kaylee Shane Crackle a student at Tecumseh High New Carlisle, Ohio.
Ethel has fifteen Great- Great- grandchildren.
Ethel was short of 3 months of being 95 years old, loved all her family, loved God sung and read the praises to her Lord Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit up until she took her last breath and her prayer is that all her loved ones meets her in heaven one day.
Funeral services will be conducted 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Fields officiating.
Private burial will be in the Brown Cemetery.
Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 4:00 P.M. Tuesday.
