Emma Marie-Ann Braswell, Isenhower, Souder, 74, of Allen, Texas, passed away peacefully April 5, 2022. She spent her last days surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Marie was born in Washington, DC on May 30, 1947, to Wilda Josephine Guy and James Carl Braswell, Sr. She was a dear sister of James Carl Braswell, Jr., Mary Jo Fortini and William Bernard Braswell. The most important part of her life without question was her family.
Marie was absolutely devoted to her children. Despite her daunting responsibilities, she never failed to be anything less than excellent as a mother. She always made time for family vacations and even a trip of a lifetime with her brother, Jimmy and his wife Jeryl to Europe which she loved very much. In her most recent months, she enjoyed her view from her window, her room full of family photos and many wonderful memories while living with her daughter, Sarah, her son-in-law, Tom and her beautiful granddaughters, Emma, Olivia and Ada. Marie was active with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed many friendships and developed a strong faith in Christ.
Marie is survived by 6 of her 7 children: Kathleen Marie Hartgraves (Jason), Sarah Olivia Menini (Tom), John Casey Souder, James Stephen Souder (Britney), Calia Ann Kimball (Tony), Jacob Spencer Souder (Katy); her brother, James Carl Braswell, Jr. and many nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to mention but not forgotten.
Marie was also a proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren whose photos she would share with everyone and which she treasured every moment with: Keara, Cameron, Bradley, Emma, Olivia, Ada, Jacob, Isiah, Kiera, Kian, Jackson and Maggie.
Marie is reunited with her loving red-headed daughter, Mary Elizabeth Souder, her parents, Wilda Josephine Guy and James Carl Braswell, Sr., her sister, Mary Jo Fortini, her brother, William Bernard (Buddy) Braswell and her nephew Billy Braswell.
We will forever miss this remarkable mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and faithful child of God.
A private family ceremony will be held at Lee Cemetery in Morehead, Kentucky, the resting place of many Souder family members including her daughter, Mary.
Condolences can be sent to 1310 Bradford Trace Allen, TX 75002 or celebrate the life of Marie by donating to her favorite charities: Allen Animal shelter locally and the SPCA of TX. https://spca.org/support-us/give/ways-to-give/honor-memorial-giving/#/form
