Ellis Kidd

Mr. Ellis V. Kidd, 76, of Crix Ridge, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 in the Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook, Kentucky after a long illness.

He was born on June 14, 1933 in Morgan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Luke and Ethel Wilder Kidd.

Mr. Kidd was a farmer and logger. He was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, Lytten, Kentucky and he enjoyed coon hunting and caring for his coon dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Estill Kidd, Gene Kidd and Emerson Kidd, as well as, three infant siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Sue Horton Kidd, whom he married on January 21, 1956, one daughter, Cathy Kidd Pettit and her husband, Larry of Morehead, three brothers, Clyde Kidd and Roger Kidd both of Morehead and Claude Kidd of Ohio, two sisters, Jewell Schwartz of Morehead and Della Johnson of Ypsilanti, Michigan and six grandchildren, Danny Adkins, Wesley Adkins, Jason Adkins, Rose Pettit, Christopher Pettit and Elizabeth Pettit.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 1, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Oscar Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the Kidd Cemetery at Blairs Mill.

Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers will be Danny Adkins, Wesley Adkins, Jason Adkins, Rose Pettit, Gordon Johnson and Ray Baldridge.
