Mr. Edward Norton Earley, 87, of Cecil Drive, Morehead, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born on September 25, 1923 in Logan, West Virginia, a son of the late Sam and Mayme Cline Earley.
Mr. Earley was retired from the Kentucky State Highway Department and a World War II Veteran.
He was a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle Church of God, the American Legion and enjoyed raising a garden, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae Ellis Earley, who passed away on August 5, 2010 and a brother Ralph Early.
Survivors include his daughter, Pam Earley Zorens and her husband, Bob of Bronston, Kentucky, brother, Don Earley, of Clearfield, Kentucky and a sister, Maxine Milner of Hendersonville, North Carolina, four grandchildren, David Zorens, Frederick Zorens, Steven Zorens, and Kimberly Shepard, three great-grandchildren, Richie Heimbrock, Amber Brown and Brittni Kalfus, one great-great-grandson, Benjamin Brown, very dear friends, JoAnn Day, Cathy Reddicks and Billie Jo Lambert. Nieces, Kay Early, Angie Earley, Connie Bishop, Alice Kaplan, Landra Pumplin and Paula Pumplin. Nephews, Garland Earley, Jack Earley, Roger Carl Early and David Earley. Also many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Ellis and Rev. Gary McQuain officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery.
Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday.
Pall Bearers will be David Zorens, Frederick Zorens, Steve Zorens, John Ellis, Jeff Ellis and Pete Hamm.
