After being in failing health for the past 14 months, Edna Marie Riddle Bradley, 86, died peacefully on April 11, 2016 at the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana, surrounded by family.
She was born on March 18, 1930 in Morehead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Charles “Charlie” Riddle and Pearl Adkins Riddle.
On August 9, 1947, Edna and Marvin W. Bradley were married at Trinity Methodist Church in Maysville, Kentucky.
Edna and Marvin moved to the Culver, Indiana area in 1951. She then moved to Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus, Indiana last August due to her failing health. Edna attended Morehead High School and the Cranston Church of God while she lived in Morehead. She worked in various garment factories in both Kentucky and Indiana until her retirement.
Edna was a patient, quiet, loving person who had a kind word for all she knew and met. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Her fried chicken and biscuits and gravy were especially popular. In addition to cooking, she loved caring for her flower beds. More than anything in the world, however, Edna loved spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, brothers, Charles, Jr., Bobby, Jimmie and Edward Riddle, an infant sister, and a grandson.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois (Robert) Broeker of Culver, Indiana, Karen (Leroy) Shirk of Columbus, Indiana and Kathy Macnak of Cypress, Texas, one sister, Joyce (Sanford) Bradley of Morehead, six grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Kelly of Cypress, Texas, Laura (Robert) McMahan of Houston, Texas, Matthew (Erica) Macnak of Arlington, Virginia, Kristopher Macnak of Warsaw, Indiana, Lindsay (Bryce) Fields of Edinburgh, Indiana and Courtney (Josh) Allman of Jonesville, Indiana, five great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Cecil Ison officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Broeker, Leroy Shirk, Matthew Macnak, Douglas Bradley, Allen Bradley and Michael Bradley.
