Dorothy Thurman Caudill, 94, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at St. Claire HealthCare.
She was born on March 13, 1930 in Spencer County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Zolar Thurman and Tressie McCleese Thurman Hardy Long.
Dorothy was retired from St. Claire Regional Medical Center, and she was a longtime member of the Johnson First Church of God.
Dorothy loved going to church and watching WLJC. She enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking, baking, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years (whom she married on July 15, 1946), Clarence Thomas Caudill, who passed away in 1996, two brothers, Bill Hardy (Hattie, decd.) and James Thurman, and two sisters, Anna Mae Pendland (Thurl, decd.) and Jean Whisman (Bud, decd.).
Survivors include three sons, Dandell Caudill (Shirley) of Morehead, Marvin Caudill also of Morehead and Johnny Caudill (Sherri) of Owingsville, Kentucky, four daughters, Judy Bott (Don) of St. Charles, Michigan, Phyllis Dunaway (J.P.) of Morehead, Connie Blair (Bobby, decd.) of Palm Coast, Florida and Kathy Estes (James) of Georgetown, Kentucky, three sisters, Ruby McKee (Mauvoreen, decd.), Elsie King (Cleve) and Beatrice Vice (Eddie) all of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 25, 2024 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Ben Furman and Brother Mark Poston officiating.
Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey.
Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Roberts, Mitchell Brown, Randy Jones, Colby Wells, Eddie Vice, Zack Murray, Cleve King, and Austin Wightman.
