Mr. Donald Barrett Stevens, 74, of 606 Rawcel Street, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 16, 2010 at his residence.

He was born on June 16, 1935 in Farmers, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles and Lucille Scott Stevens.

Mr. Stevens was retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years and from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control after 11 years. He was a member of the Morehead First Church of God. Mr. Stevens was a member of the Morehead Lions Club, where he was past president, the Fraternal Order of Police, Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 and Paris, France American Legion Post No. 1. He enjoyed reading, golfing and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lewis Stevens, whom he married on September 14, 1976, three sons, Lee Michael Stevens and his wife, Rhonda of Lakeland, Florida, Mark Scott Stevens and his wife, Lisa of Irmo, South Carolina and Paul Barrett Stevens of Charleston, South Carolina, one step-son, Michael Calvert of Morehead, two brothers, Larry Stevens of Farmers and Roger Stevens of Franklin, Ohio, one sister, Diane Stevens of Morehead, two grandchildren, Virginia Lauren Stevens and Barrett Ladson Stevens and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 20, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Allan Hutchinson and Rev. Ben Tackett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Carey Hill Cemetery.

Full military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Nickell, Chad Stevens, Tom Jones, Robert Dameron, Clayton Lewis and Denver Lewis.

Contributions are suggested to the Carey Hill Cemetery or St. Claire Hospice.
