Donald Cameron

Mr. Donald R. Cameron, 72 of Kinder Branch, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 in the Cabell-Huntington Hospital.

He was born on April 18, 1939 in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of the late Wood Pershing Cameron and Pearl Fay Walker Cameron.

Mr. Cameron was a retired Corpsman with the United States Navy, having served for 20 years. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the Clearfield Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, gardening, nature, Bluegrass music and was a Kentucky Wildcats fan.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Genevia Audrey Pendland Cameron, two sons, Donald R. (Sandy) Cameron, Jr. of Isle of Palms, South Carolina and Russell Wood (Jenny) Cameron of Maryland, one daughter, Cherie Laine Cameron (Scott) Smith of Wilmington, Ohio, two brothers, Cliff (Susan) Cameron of Bowling Green and Doug (Judy) Cameron of Mississippi, one sister, Martha Alice Trice of Nashville, Tennessee and six grandchildren, Ashley Michele Hyatt, Brie Danielle Smith, Cameron Scott Smith, Autumn Laine Smith, Branson Samuel Cameron and McKinley Grace Cameron.

There will be no services or visitation.

Contributions are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans.
