Dixie Cochran Brown, 86, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
She was born on July 19, 1936 in Williamson, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Hibbard and Dixie Justice Cochran.
Dixie was a homemaker and a member of the Rolling Hills Church of Christ in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
She enjoyed reading the Bible, painting, writing (she had several articles that were published in the Gospel Advocate, gardening, singing (she had a beautiful Alto voice) and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lee Brown, who passed away in 1979, one son, Bill Timothy Brown, one daughter, Margie Blackburn, seven brothers, Clarence Cochran, Howard Cochran, Charles Cochran, Ralph Cochran, Harold Cochran and two infant brothers, Lee Harvey Cochran and Ollie James Cochran and four sisters, Eunice Miller, Gladys Branham, Bertha Staton and Reda Nowlin.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Brown (Kelly) of Clearfield, Kentucky and Bill Steven Brown (Cheryl) of Morehead, four daughters, Peggy Conklin of Betsy Layne, Kentucky, Tammy Clark (Danny) of West Liberty, Kentucky, Sherry Lyons (Danny) of Hillsboro, Kentucky and Angela Brown of Morehead, twelve grandchildren, Michelle Drew, Matthew Clark, Jessica Blackburn, Jacob Brown, Andrea Blackburn, Danielle True, Melissa Conklin, Daniel Lyons, Timothy Dalton Brown, Haley Brown, Amanda Lyons and Leyah Dixie Brown and five great-grandchildren, Lauren Drew, Ryan Drew, Olivia Brown, Sophia Lyons and Realynn Blackburn. Also, a host of nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 9, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Dan Murphy officiating
Burial will follow in the Clearfield Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Clark, Jacob Brown, Daniel Lyons, Timothy Dalton Brown, Dale Drew and Ryan Drew.
