Kyle participated in baseball and basketball from the age of six. He was named after Kyle Macy of the Kentucky Wildcats and got to meet him when he was ten and later attended his basketball camp in Lexington, Kentucky.
Kyle made varsity on the Rowan County Vikings team his freshman year in high school. He was a point guard for them for the next three years. He was chosen to participate in the AAU basketball league. He was also chosen for the Kentucky Jr. National Team his junior and senior years. He was named All-American in the 1997 games of Toronto, Canada.
He was a dedicated Cincinnati Bengals football fan and was fortunate to watch them play in person several times. He also loved to watch UK basketball with his Dad. If they missed a game they would record it to watch later.
Kyle was a fifth-generation brick and stone mason of the Wilson family. After graduating high school, he worked along with and beside his Dad until his illness in 2016. He enjoyed playing the guitar until he lost his mobility. He loved to hear his Dad pick and sing. It was one of his favorite things. He also loved his Mom's famous ham and chocolate pies, his Uncle Johnny's peanut butter fudge, Aunt Sue's no-bake cookies and anything his daughter's would bake and surprise him with.
Most of all he was thankful that he had his children and could still talk and even had a sense of humor and would joke with his family and others.
