David Steagall

David McArthur Steagall, 66, of Jeffersonville, Kentucky formerly of Morehead passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 in the St. Joseph Hospital a�" Mt. Sterling after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was born on March 18, 1942 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Leonard and Minnie Tackett Steagall.

Mr. Steagall was a logger. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his kids and grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Allen Stegall, Abel Steagall, Arlie Steagall, Elijah Steagall, Cecil Raymond "Pete" Steagall and James Alfred Steagall, his half brother, Ernest Steagall and two sisters, Lena Mae Steagall and Marie Steagall.

Survivors include his wife, Vonda Blevins Steagall of Jeffersonville, one son, David George Steagall of Delta, Ohio, one step-son, Paul Steven Jackson of Georgia, four daughters, Donna Sue Morris of Fountain, Colorado, Robin Lee Fultz of Owingsville, Bobbie Jo Peyton of West Liberty and Nancy Sue Steagall of Wallingford, three step-daughters, Melissa Ann Hughes of Lexington, Crystal Gayle Herndon of Charlottesville, Virginia and Jennifer Lynn Herndon of Jeffersonville, two brothers, Harlan Steagall of Buffalo, Indiana and Leonard "Buck" Steagall of Morehead, one sister, Rosie Weaver of Morehead, eighteen grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 31, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Elijah Tackett and Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in the Caudill Cemetery at Cranston. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday and after 3:00 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers will be David Steagall, Mike LaPorte, Steven Puckett, Waylon Steagall, Todd Smith, Tony Steagall, Chris Steagall and Cody Peyton.
