Danny Stevens

Danny G. Stevens, 75, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born April 23, 1947 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to the late Stearl Stevens and Ruby Virginia Thomas Stevens.

Danny was of the Church of God faith and he enjoyed playing golf, sports, hunting, fishing, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was currently serving on the Rowan Water Board of Directors and was a member of the Golden Ark Masonic Lodge in Wyandotte, Michigan.  He previously served on the City Council in River Rouge, Michigan and for several years he served on the Board of Trustees at the Clearfield Tabernacle.  He enjoyed participating in community activities in the town he lived in Michigan.  He had also coached Tener League Baseball in River Rouge.

Danny retired from National Steel in River Rouge after 32 years.  He was a union representative and set on the Safety Commission for National Steel.  After retiring in Michigan and moving to Morehead, he worked for the Rowan County Sheriff's Office as a Court Security Officer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Stevens.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Law Stevens, one son, Mark Daniel Stevens of River Rouge, Michigan, one daughter, Jennifer Combs Bentley (Shawn) of Wellington, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Daniel Stevens, Dalton Bentley, Kelsey Bentley and Dylan Bentley, two brothers, Larry Joe Stevens (Vanessa) and Jeff Stevens both of Morehead, brother-in-law, Mark Law and sister-in-law, Bonnie Law Furnish (Jeff).

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God with Rev. Max Molihan and Rev. Harry Gay officiating.

Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead.

Casket bearers will be the Rowan Water Board Members: Jerry Patrick, Mike Collins, Larry Johnson, Enoch Blair, Randy Cox, and Raymond Moore.

Honorary casket bearers will be Dylan  Bentley, Daniel Stevens and Dalton Bentley.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Clearfield Tabernacle Choir, P. O. Box 31, Clearfield, Kentucky  40313.

All arrangements for Danny G. Stevens are under the care and direction of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home, 808 Old Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
