Dan Brooks, 75, of Morehead, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
He was born on July 12, 1936 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late James Marion Brooks and Rosie Adeline Stidam Brooks Hall.
Mr. Brooks was a retired heavy equipment operator for the state highway department and a farmer.
He enjoyed dogs, bird watching, reading newspapers and watching westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Rocky Johnson and Raphael Nunez, three brothers, Charlie Brooks, Virgil Kidd and Orville Kidd and three sisters, Gladys Kidd, Mary Brooks and Florence Keeton.
Survivors include one son, Steven Brooks of Morehead, two daughters, Cynthia Johnson of Morehead and Debrah Nunez of Copperas Cove, Texas, three grandchildren, James Chambers, Heath Greene and Autumn Johnson, one great-grandchild, Logan Chambers and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 16, 2012 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor David Keeton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hamilton-Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.
Pallbearers will be James Chambers, Heath Greene, Raymond Waddell, Stanley Moore, David Moore and Ricky Johnson.
