Mr. Dallas Thurman Swetnam, 84, of Morehead, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018.
He was born on March 16, 1934 in Logan, West Virginia, a son of the late John and Letha Mays Swetnam.
Mr. Swetnam was retired from the United States Air Force.
He had owned and operated Swetnam Trading Post and Swetnam and Son Repair. And, he had also worked for Montgomery Ward.
Dallas was a member of the American Legion, N.R.A. and AARP and he enjoyed collecting rocks, coins and guns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Rose Swetnam, the mother of his four oldest children, Ona Hensley and one brother, Donald Swetnam.
Survivors include his companion, Deb Thomas of Morehead, two sons, Mark Swetnam of Morehead and Matt Swetnam (Camilla) of House Springs, Missouri, three daughters, Valerie Wagoner (David Binion), Venita Swetnam (Bobby Stacy) and Brianna Greenhill (Tripp) all of Morehead, one brother, Denny Swetnam of Jasper, Alabama, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead.
Full military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Corbie Ellington American Legion Post No. 126.
Visitation is after 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
