Cynthia Carter

Cynthia Ann Layne Carter, 60, of South Point, Ohio formerly of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

She was born on July 23, 1959 in Morehead, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Bill and Martha Ann Ward Layne.

Cynthia was a homemaker and a 1977 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School.

She enjoyed flowers and doing word search.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Clydia Jo Layne McDavid and Victoria Lynn Caudill.

Survivors include three sons, William Michael Layne of Bowling Green, Jeremy Andrew Layne of South Point, Ohio and Kenneth Allen Carter of Ashland, one daughter, Prudence Alicia Layne of Ashland, the father of her children, Michael Carter of Olive Hill, four brothers, Billy Layne of Reddington, California, Patrick Layne of Huntington, West Virginia, Jeffrey Layne of South Point, Ohio and Kevin Layne of Ashland, eleven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 17, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Siloam Cemetery.

Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Monday.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Layne, Joshua Layne, James Layne, Eric Layne, Kyle Layne and Mike Caudill.
