Creston was born on October 11, 1925 in Lexington, Kentucky.  He attended Ashland Elementary, and Picadome Elementary.  He attended Picadome High School, Bryan Station High School, and then Lafayette High School, all located in Lexington, Kentucky.  He graduated from Hopkinsville High School with honors and received the Bausch & Lomb award in science.

Mr. Mayhall delivered the Ladies Home Journal, for which he received 10 cents per magazine.  He also delivered the Saturday Evening Post, for which he received 5 cents per copy and he delivered the Lexington Leader in the evening, for which he received 2 cents per paper.

Creston was drafted into the Army in 1944 and served in the medical corps until 26 May 1946.  He then attended the University of Kentucky.  He transferred to Peabody University Pre Medical program, and then attended Vanderbilt Pre Medical for three years.  He then transferred to the University of Louisville Medical Center.  Due to illness, he had to leave after 3 years and never finished his degree in medicine.  He then worked for Doakes Medical Supply for a year and was then hired by Eastern Airlines to be the Travel Agent Manager.

Creston continued to live in Morehead with his caregiver, Opal Jennings and sons.  They considered him “one of the family.”  He loved children, and never knew a stranger with adults.  He would help anyone when needed, even when it took all that he had financially.  Creston was a guardian angel of the downtrodden and afflicted, and will be missed by his loved ones.
