Connie Williams Porter

Connie Williams Porter, 77, of Olympia KY passed away on March 15, 2025. She was born on May 11, 1947 in Bridgeport, NJ to the late Emma (Hyatt) Markwell. Connie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, remembered for her warm heart and nurturing spirit.

Connie had a passion for knitting and loved cooking, always creating delicious meals for her family. She also enjoyed keeping her home clean and welcoming. One of her favorite places was Gatlinburg, where she made many treasured memories. Connie enjoyed exploring her creative side, often visiting shops to look for items to create her own fun crafts. Not only did she enjoy craft festivals, but she also enjoyed attending music festivals with her family and greatly enjoyed the good music and great company her loved ones brought her.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her daughter Stephanie Williams, and her two brothers, Gene Williams and Bobby Markwell.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Clarence Porter, two sons, Barry Porter of Morehead and Travis Porter of Lexington, one daughter Lisa Porter Haney of Olympia, five grandchildren, Megan Stevens (Christian), Hailey and Karah Luker, Colton Haney, and Grace Porter, three great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Walker Stevens, and Nico Luker, and three sisters, Gail Owens (Sherman) of Ashland, Janet Hollenbach (John) of Rose Haven, MD, and Rephunzel Bowling (Dwane) of Kenosha, WI.

Connie Williams Porter will be missed dearly by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
