Mr. Collis Lee Sexton, Age 86 of Hillsboro and Morehead, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 19, 2018 at his home in Hillsboro.
He was born June 15, 1931 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, to the late Roy and Martha O'Connor Sexton.
Collis was a retired farmer and construction worker. He enjoyed working in his shop, doing odd jobs, fishing, hiking in the woods, watching old westerns and University of Kentucky Basketball. He was an active member of the House of Prayer where he enjoyed working in the church.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margurite Jones Sexton and his second wife, Bertha Mynhier Sexton. One son, Russell Allen Sexton, two brothers, Paul Sexton and Donald Sexton. One sister, Mary Virginia Denkins.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Adams Sexton. One son, Harold Lee Sexton and his wife Carolyn Sue of Carlisle, Kentucky. One daughter, Roxie Montjoy of Winchester, Kentucky. One brother, Clyde Sexton of Florida and Two sisters, Clara Fairbanks of Goshen, Ohio and Dorothy Joseph of Cincinnati, Ohio. Six Grandchildren, thirteen Great-Grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Special friends, The Judy Hignite Family and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at The House of Prayer, 600 Whispering Oaks, Morehead, Kentucky with Brother. Winston McClurg, Brother Carl Griggs, Brother Joe Cline and Brother Raymond Steagall officiating.
Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at The House of Prayer.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Plank, Mark Holland, Vernon Stamper, Mark Lewis, David Adams, Derrick Mynhier, Andy Reber and John McBrayer.
