Clarence Edwin Porter, 81,of Olympia, Kentucky passed away on April 17, 2025. He was born on July 8, 1943, in Lexington, Kentucky to the late Rodney and Audra (Richardson) Porter.
A proud veteran, Clarence served in the Navy, demonstrating his commitment to his country and embracing the values of service and camaraderie. His time in uniform left a profound impact on his life, instilling in him a sense of discipline and respect for others.
Outside of his military service, Clarence was an avid outdoorsman. He found joy in hunting and fishing, and equally delighted in camping, where he could connect with nature. He also had a passion for making knives, showcasing both his creativity and craftsmanship. One of his favorite places was Gatlinburg, where he enjoyed the scenic beauty and tranquility it offered.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Audra (Richardson) Porter, his wife, Connie (Williams) Porter, one daughter, Stephanie Williams, and his sister, Norma Porter.
Survivors include two sons, Barry Porter of Morehead and Travis Porter of Lexington, one daughter Lisa Thiede of Olympia, five grandchildren, Meghann Stevens (Christian), Hailey and Karah Luker, Colton Haney, and Grace Porter, three great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Walker Stevens, and Nico Luker.
As we remember Clarence Edwin Porter, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, adventure, and love. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him, reminding us of the importance of family, the great outdoors, and the joys of simple pleasures.
