Clara Caudill

Mrs. Clara Ann (Georgie) Cooper Caudill, 78 of 4625 Cranston Road, Morehead, KY, passed away Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Life Care Center of Morehead after an extended illness.

Born April 1, 1932 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Rebecca Curtis Cooper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Samuel Carter Caudill, her husband of 57 years, Henry A. Caudill (June 26, 2005), an infant granddaughter, Abby Nicole King and brothers, Olven, Sam and Otis Cooper.

She is survived by her twin sister, Corda Katherine (Jessie) Cooper Kelsey of Morehead, Kentucky, ten children, Babe (Jim) Fraley of San Diego, California, Dianne (Gary) Hodges and Patti (Ernie) Wood of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Henry Jr. (Teresa) Caudill, Kathy (John) King, Mike/Doc (Libby) Caudill, Jeff (Gretta) Caudill, Mark (Tammy) Caudill, Steve (Jody) Caudill and Nick Caudill & fiancAC.e, Jeanne Lyons, all of Morehead, Kentucky. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Until illness prevented she was an active member of the Cranston Church of God. She had a deep faith and love for her Church Family. She performed many functions during her faithful years of service, acting as children's song leader, led Bible study, Bible School, and taught Sunday School among many other services.

Mrs. Caudill was an avid gardener; it was one of her greatest joys. She was known for her beautiful flower beds along her property on Cranston Road. She took great pride in her vegetable garden and spent many hours canning foods for her family. She prepared meals for her large family and was known to make the best biscuits and gravy in the county!

She raised ten children teaching them the fundamentals of a moral life that would serve them well. She taught her children the value of work, the importance of a 'job well done' and to become responsible citizens.

Always available to her family, friends and community she provided strength, support and comfort in times of need.

She was a leader in her community, a caregiver to many, and counselor to her family, friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Caudill's sons, Henry Jr., Mike, Jeff, Mark, Steve and Nick will act as pallbearers.

Services will take place at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home at 808 Old Flemingsburg Road in Morehead, Kentucky. Visitation after 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 15, 2010 with Pastor John (Butch) Kelsey officiating. Burial will follow at Cranston Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor are requested to the Cranston Church of God, 420 Cross Creek Road, Morehead, KY 40351.
