Charles "Chock" Sturgill, 93, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007 in the Life Care Center.
He was born on February 6, 1914 in Vale, Kentucky, a son of the late James and Anna Ethel Thomas Sturgill.
Mr. Sturgill was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Primitive Church of God and enjoyed hunting and riding horses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Shuck Sturgill, three brothers, James Phillip Sturgill, William Sturgill and Paul Sturgill and four sisters, Geneva Black, Helen Foster, Margaret Moore and an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Johnson Sturgill of Morehead, four step-sons, Douglas Johnson of Soldier, James Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jesse Johnson of Grayson and Gregory Johnson of Morehead, one step-daughter, Diana Jones of Ashland, four sisters, Frances Kidd, Sarah Esther Allen, Regina Mack all of Morehead and Ruth Sturgill, twelve step-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2007 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Elder Deward Hall and Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Doug Johnson, Buck Kelly, David Allen and Shawn Allen.
