Charles Smith

Mr. Charles R. Smith, 87, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Rowan County, Kentucky and Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010.

Charles worked for N.C.R. in Dayton, OH, in emergency repair service, for 30 years and retired in 1977. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and served in WWII. He was also a member of Venice Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Smith, of Venice, FL; son Randy Smith; daughters Donna Brown (Tim), Janet Minch, and Theresa Baker, all of Venice, FL; brothers John Smith of Lexington, KY, Vernon Smith of Sarasota, FL, and Kenneth Smith of Venice, FL; sisters Kathleen Tirey of Beattyville, KY, Lenora Smith of Morehead, KY, and Judy Turner of Hebron, KY; grandchildren Shannon Brown, Marjorie McCauley, Nathan and Nicholas Minch, Jeremy Qvick, Danielle Ester, Dylan Baker, Benson, Brett and Marissa Smith; and great grandchildren Darrien, Austin, Dalton, and Alexis Brown, Matthew and Miranda McCauley, Logan and Emily Moore-Qvick, Kaydence VanPelt.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dana Smith and granddaughter, Charessa Qvick.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Venice Church of the Nazarene.

Burial will follow in the Vencie Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Monday at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Venice Church of the Nazarene.
