Charles Robert “Bob” Mynhier, 86, of Morehead, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, May 13, 2024 at his home following a 12 year battle with Alzheimer’s.

He was born on June 30, 1937, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Earl and Faye Roberts Mynhier.
  
Bob was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union in Dayton, Ohio where he worked for several years.  He had also worked for Pack’s, Jackson Builders and Harold White Lumber Company as a carpenter.  He enjoyed building and construction and was skilled in all trades.

He was a 40 year member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, Morehead, where he had served as an usher and on the Board.  Bob loved greeting and talking with people and enjoyed making them feel welcome.

Bob enjoyed old cars and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Burl Ray Mynhier and Allie Vernon Mynhier and two sisters, Emogene Jackson and Judy Holbrook.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, whom he married in November 1974, Darlene Mays Mynhier. Two sons, Charles Brock Mynhier (Tiffany) of Montgomery County, Kentucky and Bradley Alan Mynhier (Amber) of Morehead, two grandchildren, Abigail Grace and Carsen Robert, sisters-in-law, Lois Barker of Morehead who helped as a caregiver and was very special to him, Faye Linville of Dayton, Ohio, Verna Sloan of Clearfield, Kentucky, Nettie Mays of Germantown, Ohio and Louise Mynhier of South Carolina and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Rick Stone and Pastor Joey Damron officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mays Cemetery in Elliott County, Kentucky.

Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brock Mynhier, Brad Mynhier, Carsen Mynhier, Dakota Barker, John Rister and David Jackson.
