Mrs. Carrie Smith King, 86, of Kentucky 801 South, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the home of her daughter, Paula Perry.
She was born on June 28, 1923 in Farmers, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Lucian and Pearl Vanderpool Smith.
Mrs. King was a retired hairdresser. She was a member of the Farmers Christian Church and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, flowers and raising a garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John King, who passed away on January 4, 2005 and one brother, Tom Smith.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandra K. Long of Indianapolis, Indiana, Paula Perry and her husband, Dennis of Morehead and Sheryl Chultie of Mesa, Arizona, two sisters, Mary Alice Nelson of Tampa Florida and Mae Hall of Morehead, three great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 10, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Brother Bill Teegarden officiating. Burial will follow in the Carey Cemetery at Farmers. Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Smith, Mark Smith, Jordan Smith, Dennis Perry, Jim Smith and Tim Garvin.
