Burlin "Bub" Bair, Jr.

Burlin Jackson “Bub” Bair, Jr., 52, of Soldier, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born on December 6, 1965 in Morehead, Kentucky, a son of Barbara Layne Bair and the late Burlin Jackson Bair.

Bub had been a diesel mechanic for D. L. Braughler for 30 years and he was known to be a very good carpenter.

He was a member of the Flat Fork Church of God.

Bub loved to fish and he enjoyed hunting, building model cars, working on cars and trucks, welding and going to church.

Family was very important to him and he treasured the time that he got to spend with them, especially his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burlin Jackson Bair, who passed away on June 5, 2014.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Smith Bair, one daughter, Tabitha Butler of Soldier, his mother, Barbara Layne Bair of Soldier, three brothers, Anthony (Betty Jean) Bair, Christian (Kathy) Bair and Stephen (Melissa) Bair all of Olive Hill, one sister, Michelle (Ronald Gene) Bond of Olive Hill, four nephews, Stephen Bair, Jr., Shane Michael Bair, Christian Bailey Bair and Bo Sparks, two nieces, Rachael Bair and Kaitlin Bond, several other relatives and many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Brother Steve Madden officiating.

Burial will follow in the Manning Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.

Visitation is after 12:00 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James Perry, Bryan Fraley, Matthew Knipp, Danny Knipp, Ray Madden and Jonathan Henderson.
