Mr. Burlin Jackson Bair, 74, of Soldier, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Life Care Center.

He was born on May 22, 1940 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Virgil and Lenora Stigall Bair.

Burlin was a retired heavy equipment mechanic and truck driver.

He was a member of the Beartown Church of God and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling, caring for his dogs and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert Bair, Elmer Bair and Delmer Bair.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Layne Bair, whom he married on July 15, 1961, four sons, Anthony (Betty Jean) Bair, Burlin J. (Ruth Ann) Bair, Jr., Christen (Vickie) Bair and Stephen (Melissa) Bair all of Olive Hill, one daughter, Michelle (Ronald Gene) Bond of Olive Hill, two sisters, Floella Baldridge of Morehead and Loberta (Daniel) Knipp of Olive Hill, five grandchildren, Rachael Bair, Stephen Bair, Jr., Katlyn Bond, Shane Bair and Christen Bailey Bair, two step-grandchildren, Bo Daniel Sparks and Tabitha Ann Butler Kranz and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 8, 2014 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Elijah Wagoner and Rev. Louie Harris officiating.

Burial will follow in the Manning Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is after 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Knipp, Danny Knipp, Bryan Fraley, Frank Lemasters, Billy Curtis, Shane Bair, Joshua Thompson, Stephen Bair, Jr. and Bo Daniel Sparks.
