Bonnie McDaniel

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Bonnie R. (McKenzie) McDaniel (Clearfield, KY), born in Morehead, KY, who passed away on December 3, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends.  Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Bonnie lived an infinitely rich and beautiful life.  Beloved by all who knew her, she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.  An adventurous spirit and pillar of strength for her family, she supported her husband’s career by traveling around the world with him and taking care of their children by herself during his overseas deployments.  She was always there for her children, grandchildren, and extended family whenever needed, and could always be relied upon for help, guidance, and affirmations.  She was kindhearted, generous, and loved a good bargain; it was impossible to leave her home without a bag of food, or a bag of blankets she had found for a deal.  She will forever be loved, and forever be missed.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Andy McKenzie and Oda McKenzie; her siblings, Mitchell, Bill, Ralph, Kathie, Carmie, Austin, and Louise McKenzie.

She is survived by: her husband Gerald McDaniel of Clearfield, KY; her children Rebecca (Mark) Garcia of Wilder, KY, Bruce McDaniel of Wilder, KY, and Sheila (David) Barber of Clearfield, KY; her grandchildren, CPT Andrew (1LT Adrienne) Garcia currently serving in the US Army at Shoefield Barracks, HI, Dr. Alexandra N. Garcia, PT, DPT of Wilder, KY, 1LT Annie E. Garcia currently serving in the US Army at Hiro Ammunition Depot in Japan, Taylor L. Barber of Clearfield, KY, and Jacob B.H. Barber of Clearfield, KY; her siblings, John McKenzie and Virginia Hall of Morehead, KY, and Helen McCall of Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Joaquine Ooten officiating.

Burial will follow in the Crix Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2022 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Barber, Jacob Barber, Mark Garcia, David Barber, Dale Carpenter and Troy Perkins.
