Bobby Joe Morrison, 68, of Island Fork Road passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 at his residence.
He was born on March 19, 1939 in Morehead, Kentucky, a son of the late Reed and Myrtle Bayes Morrison.
Mr. Morrison was a former construction worker, pipeline worker and United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Church of God and American Legion and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George Herbert ("G. H.") Morrison, Sammy Morrison, Charles Morrison and David Lee Morrison, one sister, Elizabeth Quesinberry, brother-in-law, Walter Cooper and nephew, Ryan Cooper.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Anna Jane Jones Morrison of Morehead, one son, Gary Richard Morrison of Morehead, one step-son, Stephen Mark Smith of Surprise, Arizona, one daughter, Ronnie Morrison of Morehead, one granddaughter, Shana Barnette and her husband, Steve of Morehead, four great-grandchildren, Whitley Nicole, Jacob Gage, Harley Jo and Kaden Shane, sister-in-law, Gloria Cooper, several nieces and nephews including, Linda, Ray and Jimmy Lee Quesinberry all of Belton, Texas and Morgan Cooper, special cousins, Linda Cooper, John II, Latoya, James, Mary and special friends, W. Scott North, Ralph Davis, Jr., Henry Davis, Cobern Fannin, Gerald and Jewell Lacy and Dr. Don Blair.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrison Family Cemetery on Island Fork Road. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Monday.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
