Betty Thornhill

Mrs. Betty Jo Messer Thornhill, 83, of Roseville, Michigan formerly of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 in the Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan.

She was born on September 27, 1926 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James Elbert and Pearl James Messer.

Mrs. Thornhill was a retired restaurant manager and a member of the Warren Woods Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Thornhill, who passed away on October 16, 2001, two brothers, Logan Messer and Jack Messer and four sisters, Florce Messer, Dixie Blizzard, Lillian Eldridge and Pauline McManus.

Survivors include four sons, William Richard Thornhill and his wife, Roberta, James Elbert Thornhill and his wife, Faye, Paul Randolph Thornhill and his wife, Lenora and Michael Thornhill and his wife, Susan, one daughter, Sheila Blazofsky, thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the New Sill Cemetery at Haldeman with Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 12 Noon Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Roger Porter, Roger Eldridge, Michael Eldridge, Eddie White, Randall Thornhill, Tom Eldridge, Tim McManus and Jerry Eldridge.
