Bertha Roberts
January 15, 1906 — July 24, 2008
Bertha McKinney Roberts, 102, of Kentucky 801 North, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008 at her home.
She was born on January 15, 1906 in Zilpo, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John and Corilla Armstrong McKinney.
Mrs. Roberts was a partner in farming with her late husband. They raised Grade A produce to sell to area restaurants and grocery stores. She was a member of the Church of God and enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, canning, reading and quoting poetry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roberts who passed away on January 25, 2001 and four brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Viola Cassity of Morehead, two grandchildren, Carolyn Sanders and Lynn Cassity, two great-grandchildren, Joseph Michael Sanders and Crystal Marie Sanders, two great-great-granddaughters, Bailey Sanders and Evelyn Grey Sanders and the many caregivers, especially those who provided tender, loving care for her during her final days.
Private family funeral services will be conducted with burial in the Brown Cemetery. Public visitation is from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home.
