Berniece Griggs

Berniece Carol Griggs, 67, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born September 9, 1953 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to the late Avery and Beartleen Kegley McDaniel.

Berniece worked as an Executive Steward at the Mara Logo Resort in Palm Beach, Florida where she retired after seventeen years.  She held her faith close to her heart and attended the Goffs Corner Independent Church of God in Winchester, Kentucky.  Whether she was cooking or busy with her crafts, Berniece always found joy and brought it to others that knew her as well.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who adored her family.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Mickey.

Survivors include her husband, Archie W. Griggs, her three daughters; Rhonda Twining (Randy) of Winchester, Tammy Brown of Mt. Sterling and Dora Beth Federico (John) of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, ten grandchildren; Brandon, Breanna, Justin, Jamie, Timothy, Archie Ryan, Kaitlyn, Casey Beth, John David and Maddy, two brothers; Bernard McDaniel (JoAnn) of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Ray McDaniel (Villie) of Florence, Indiana, two sisters; Debbie Stephens of Clayton, North Carolina and Roberta Howard (David) of Morehead, Kentucky.  Survivors also include several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Mike Phillips and Rev. Marvin Thomas officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ginter Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Goffs Corner Independent Church of God in Winchester, from 6 - 9 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers include Randy Twining, John Federico, Archie Brown, Justin Twining, Jamie Twining and Timothy Twining.
