Barbara Applegate

Barbara Elaine Applegate, 60 of the Orangeburg community of Mason County, Kentucky passed away Monday in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. She was born in Carlisle, Kentucky on February 24, 1956 to the late Ray Kenneth and Thelma Christine George Gray.
She retired from Jockey International having worked many years at the Carlisle plant and finished her career at the Maysville plant. After retirement she returned to Maysville Community College where she graduated and received certification as a pharmacy technician. She worked several years for Rite Aid Pharmacy in Maysville.
Barb was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church and attended the Mt. Carmel Christian Church. She was an avid UK Basketball fan, enjoyed living on the farm, caring for her horses, Boxer dogs, deer hunting and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Applegate, Two daughters, Deana Thornsburg and Brian of Moorefield, Kentucky, Becky Jolly and Timmy Buckler of Tilton, Kentucky, three step-sons, Jeremy Applegate and Sarah of Orangeburg, Kentucky, Darren Applegate and Larren Applegate both of Maysville, Kentucky. Three brothers, Ricky Gray and Peggy of Elizaville, Kentucky, Michael Gray and Lisa of Morehead, Kentucky and Gregory Gray and Debbie of Ewing, Kentucky. Four grandchildren, Colton Thornsburg and Casey of Carlisle, Kentucky, Austin Thornsburg of Moorefield, Kentucky, Brooklyn Jolly and Morgan Ishmael both of Tilton, Kentucky. Six step-grandchildren, Jera Applegate, Kacey Applegate, Kaylee Grace Holland and Zachary Ray Applegate all of Orangeburg, Kentucky. Kelsey Jolley and Adam and James Buckler all of Tilton, Kentucky. One step-great-grandchild Hunter Jolley. Also, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Price Bros. Funeral Home in Elizaville, Kentucky with Bro. Dean Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elizaville Cemetery.
Visitation at Price Bros. Funeral Home in Elizaville, Kentucky is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday.
Serving as pall bearers will be Darren Applegate Jeremy Applegate, Richie Gray, Whitt Gray, Jason Gray, Justin Gray, Travis Carpenter and Nick Miley. Honorary pallbearer will be Larren Applegate.
