Asa Scott Douglas McClain, 57, of Kentucky 801 South, Morehead, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after suffering an apparent heart attack.

He was born on July 12, 1951 in Madison County, Kentucky, a son of Billy McClain and the late Evalena Pennington McClain.

Scott was the owner and operator of Cave Run Marina. He was a member of the Kentucky Marina Association, a kind Christian man and he enjoyed camping, the outdoors, farming and watching his children's sports activities.

Survivors include his wife, Mona Ollis McClain, his father, Billy McClain of Morehead, two daughters, Sydney McClain and Michaela McClain both at home, one brother, Bev McClain and his wife, Cheryl of Lexington, four sisters-in-law, Hennie Robinson and her husband, Doug of St. Petersburg, Florida, Regina Killer and her husband, Jim of O'Fallon, Missouri, Holly Ollis of Los Angeles, California and Nicole Ollis of Louisville and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. H. G. Pratt officiating. Visitation is after 4:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Contributions are suggested to the Educational Fund for Sydney and Michaela or S.T.A.R. (Save the Animals of Rowan County).
