Mrs. Alma Dean "Teddy" Boyd, 88, of Center Street, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the Life Care Center.
She was born on January 19, 1921 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James and Bertha Wilson Dean.
Mrs. Boyd was a retired nursing assistant for St. Claire Regional Medical Center, where she worked for 26 years. She was a member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God. Mrs. Boyd was an avid quilter, who enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Boyd, who passed away on November 7, 1981, one brother, Wayne Dean and two sisters, Jewell Warren and Dorothy Hale.
Survivors include two sons, J. B. Boyd and Chester Ray Boyd and his wife, Jewell of Morehead, four daughters, Judy Workman and her husband, Ronnie, Thelma Lewis and her husband, Robert, Brenda Litton and her husband, Jack and Sue Ison all of Morehead, one brother, Glen Dean of Pensacola, Florida, twelve grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Max Molihan and Rev. Gary McQuain officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be Cass Blair, Tim Brown, Grace Little and Jenny Adkins.
Contributions are suggested to Life Care Center, St. Claire Hospice or Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God.
