Albert Alderson

Mr. Albert MacArthur Alderson Sr. age 79, of Morehead, entered into eternal rest on December 11, 2021, at Saint Claire Healthcare in Morehead, Kentucky.  He was born on November 28, 1942, to the late Bert and Bernice Ened Green Alderson. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Albert MacArthur Alderson Jr., two brothers, Carroll “Hoss” Alderson and Malcom “Mac” Alderson. Three sisters, Naomi Ward, Lois Goins and Sharon Gail Lanham.

Albert is survived by his loving wife, of 59 years, Dorthula “Dottie” Wescott Alderson. One son, James “Jimmy” Alderson. Three grandsons whom he loved so very much: Kenneth, Austin and Brandon. One brother, Ray Alderson of Woodleaf, North Carolina; one sister, Roma Coleman of St. Louis, Missouri. Daughter in law, Melina Alderson. Sisters-in-law Rita Wescott of Lexington and Donna Stamper of Morehead. One Brother-in-law Terry Wescott of Louisville.

Albert was born on Greenbend road where he lived his entire life. He met the love of his life, Dottie, at the Slaty Point Baptist Church. They built a strong marriage together and were blessed abundantly. He loved to read the Bible and never missed an opportunity to share the gospel with anyone. Some past times of his were wade fishing with his grandsons, climbing Green Mountain and sliding down the log chute, and giving them a hard time as much as possible. Albert had been an electrician for over 30 years with his two sons. He had worked at Carr Lumber, Seal-Master and A.M electric.

He never missed a church event and enjoyed traveling to other churches to hear a message preached. He was a member of the Slaty Point Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for 20 years. He also attended the Salt Lick Freewill Baptist Church. Special music will be provided by his Grandson, Kenneth.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 2 P.M in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Reverend Andy Lands and Reverend Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Slaty Point Cemetery.
Visitation is after 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers: His Grandsons, Tony Glover, Darrell Glover, Patrick Conn, Mike Conn, David Wescott and Gerald Conn.
